The Association of Registered Professional Foresters ofNew Brunswick********************************************************************** The Association meets the challenge of responsibility for sustainable forest resource management, as our members are graduates of forestry degree programs with a strong commitment to continuing education. The Canadian Federation of Professional Foresters Association (CFPFA) coordinates the standards of university curriculum and practice for the five provinces which have professional associations. The Canadian Forestry Accreditation Board, an offshoot of the CFPFA, has completed a review of the curricula of canadian university forestry programs, including University of New Brunswick and L'université de Moncton. These programs have been accredited for the next four years, with provision for re-examination as curricula may change. The core curriculum followed by forestry faculties provides the foundation on which graduate foresters build their careers. An understanding of all values in the forest is inculcated in foresters and, from this foundation, each grows their particular area of interest and career. The entomologist, economist, biologist, fire management officer, geographic information analyst, tree improvement manager, extension authority, academic, policy adviser, administrator, and executive all begin as foresters and people the departments of government, industry and academia involved in forestry. They are the Registered Professional Foresters of New Brunswick, using the designation R.P.F. Most recent update April 24, 2013 |
